Hi to all.
My name is Mike and I'm in GA for the time being. I found out about this forum thru an e-mail I received about a monthly beat battle.
I make music on my free time. I use an ASR-10 but I'm looking to upgrade to Logic Pro 7 sometime next month. As far as my favorite kinds of music, I listen to hip-hop, soul, funk, jazz, latin, brazilian and reggae. Basically, anything that sounds good to my ears.

 Phil from Maryland. Been doing Hip-Hop for waaaaay too long. I consider myself more of a "track writer" (term coined by Cee-Lo Greene) since I have no artists to actually produce at this time. I'm finishing up an instrumental album with a friend of mine, but I'm really amped about a couple of writing projects. There might be an EP project or two, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm still open to working with people, but I'm not nearly as eager as I once was. I chalk it up to the quality of today's MCs. I have not heard anyone who has all the qualities I know my experiences have told me that they need. Some of these guys are very, very talented, but they end up being irresponsible, complacent, afraid success, or what it really takes to get noticed. Others have potential, but follow industry trends way too closely to be anything considering "special". And when I say special, I mean KRS-One/Andre 3000/Busta Rhymes/Bun B/Lauryn Hill/Redman/Ras Kass special. NOT this soft, corny, insulting, pandering garbage on the radio and BET. |

What's good ya'll...I haven't been on the boards for almost a year. Got an email mentioning the hotter than July beat battle so, had to swing through again. I went by another name but couldn't remember my username or password so, I just re-registered. Glad to be back and I plan on sticking around this time. My skills have increased a WHOLE lot since last I was here. I see alot of familiar faces...It's good to be home again.  |

yo whats up ya'll im a noob here man...im 17 workin wit FL 7 and Reason 3.0 im sample based im tryna get my style in2 place im in2 people like Dj Premier and black milk im tryna put 2 ~N~ 2 together to bring out a masterpeice of music...but anyways I love sampling its an art to me soo...hit me up on anything else
