i know you said to use only the samples provided to make the beat, and i know you said that we can incorporate scratching also. do you mean we can only cut the samples provided or cut some stuff off a break vinyl? thanks peace

You can incorporate any type of scratching you want...Just not any other instrument samples...Vocal phrases, white noise, various "fresh" or "battle" samples etc...

Given that I was generous enough to supply this (and the bulk of the previous) contest kit, I'm hoping one of y'all will be prepared to repay my generosity in kind?
Thing is, I'm running low on inspiration and am in desperate need of three acapellas in order to develop three works in progress. I need the acapellas to give my projects some shape and to develop an original groove (everything I do comes out with the same ol' flat boombap groove).
I'm after 1 aca' of aprox 85 bpm, one of approx 95 bpm and one of approx 120 bpm. I'm especially interested in getting acapellas by: MF Doom, Method Man, Masta Ace or Dead prez.
If you think you can help, hit me up via: mr-purple@morebounce.freeserve.co.uk with a senspace link (obviously ASAP please).

Im new to these producer battles but this kit seems nice 2work with. Jus 2clear things up, when you say you can add your own scratch's does that mean you can scratch your own samples? or you can only scratch the samples provided in the kit? Also why are we allowed to add our own cymbals? peace.

And you can add your own crash cymbal because it's really hard to find a good crash sample by itself on record, or anywhere for that matter. And a crash is something that can be incorporated into any type of beat...Thats what I think anyway...SfS would have to answer that question accurately. Good luck.

FYI, there are at least half a dozen cymbals (crash and ride) in this month's kit.
I'm already working on next month's kit so let me know (via email) when you want it.

the battle ends tonight at midnight and the judges will take about a week or so to come up with a winner but in the meantime we will be starting the next battle within a few days after this one ends
