Yo Siver, there is also a cymbal in the kit, but you have to dissect one of the drum samples to get it, forget which one.

got my beat almost finished. well, actually it's turned more into a 3+ minutes instrumental track if i have the time maybe i'll make a second today i dont know if this has already been asked, but how does the voting work? is there a jury, or can everybody vote? cause if its the last, i doubt that everyone is going to check every entry, if there are so many beats to check.. just wondering..

So what's your judging process?
EDIT: and do we get to see the top 5 runner up entries so that we can at least know what else was close to making it

Man, to be perfectly honest.. even with judges, I dont see anyone going through all 5,000 of those entries and really being able to pick out 5 or 6 clear winners (1 winner and 5 runners up).
Personally, I listened to about 6 or 7, and they were all nice (some were REALLY nice, but Im not gonna say which..LOL)... but after that.. it was tough to even try to pick a clear cut winner... I cant see how anyone is going to be able to sift through all of them and make an informed choice...
Gonna be interesting to see what they come up with tho...
Also, gonna be interesting to see what they consider good... just a straight beat that someone can rhyme over... or a full instrumental track.. or what have you...
Either way.. I was impressed with the samples provided and look forward to the next one..
Kudos

yea...this will be interesting to see what the outcome is...for the future, i think the entry period should be a lot shorter...or else make a limit on how many people can drop...because like others have said...it would be really hard to judge 100+ beats and pick a winner.

I'm sure the chosen judges will be competent, and will make an initial list of possibles from all the entries, and then narrow that list down... *hint to judges* LOL...
at least thats how I would do it
and I've listened to almost every entry, it will take a while, but its not impossible... I've also picked out about 15 beats that I would narrow my list down to... the hard part would be taking it from there.
