So I'm kind of new to the whole portable workstation kind of thing (I actually used to bring my desktop, CRT monitor and everything to shows or to the studio). Recently I got a new job which allows me ample time to make beats at work so I decided it was time to get a laptop. With that said I'm now into the portable thing, and for anyone else who is you already know laptop speakers suck!!! I've been using a really nice pair of Sony Earbuds ($35) but it's not the same as being able to bang even moderately out loud, so I started searching for portable speakers. After reading several positive reviews I decided to try out Tritton's Sound Bite and this little thing rocks!! It's about as big as a hockey puck and carries 2 tweeters and a "subwoofer". If your in the market I got mine for $20 and I couldn't be happier. The USB cable is attached to the unit tucks away under the bottom for storage. The best thing about the USB audio is that it totally avoids the crappy soundcard (for playback only) and carries a really nice bass response for it's size. I had trouble finding one in stock for a while but tigerdirect.com has them for now. If you need or want speakers I'd say grab'em for the price there is no competition!
