Hi, I don't really get how the sound card thing works. I only recently found out that it's a really good sound card that gives beats a studio-like quality. But what I don't understand is whether or not FL Studio will automatically detect your good soundcard and use it when rendering. If not, how would I change the settings so that FL can detect the good soundcard. Thanks, Stinger. [thescript]

Your soundcard will not affect your mixdown in anyway. All a soundcard can do to sound better than another one is what is called interpolation. Sound cards need to do what is known as interpolation; where they fill in the gaps between samples. So when you provide a sound at 44.1k, your sound card needs to know what happens inbetween each sample.
One thing you can do with fruity loops is change the interpolation method that the mixer uses.
Now sure where you heard about the "studio-like" quality feature of the soundcard.

Are you sure? It doesn't affect the quality of the track at all? 'Cause I have a friend who makes beats and told me the soundcard is what makes the quality of the beats good. And another guy told me that my stock soundcard affects the quality of my songs. If not, how can I increase the quality of my songs so they sound like studio-quality? Thx.

Also, is the interpolation the same as the buffer length? Actually I'm reading the rendering options and it says: Quality: Sampler's interpolation, and then there's different options. So, the soundcard must affect the quality of the track when you render it, doesn't it?

Actually the better the sound card the better fl should render, and most importantly the better the sound card the less latency

ya thats what i thought. thx for clarifying that for me. btw, for the judges of the may beat battle, check out www.soundclick.com/stingarecords and listen to the first beat: " I can blaze like you" just to show you what I could do with another of the samples, even though i didnt use the drums given in the kit, cause i had made it after the deadline. It's too bad, cause i sampled that one really well, shoulda done it before.... anyways, atleast i got the chance to give one contest beat in. should be listed in the contest beat thread. anyways, thx. Peace, Stinger. [thescript]
