I am trying to use Cubase with my MPC 2500 , i want to use my VST's as sound modules. But if I have more than one VST the MPC seems to send signals down all the midi channels playing all the VST at the same time even though they are all on different channels can any one help.

I have my MPC sync to Cubase as the master, MPC settings are all correct
my midi routing is as follows

Midi keyboard out to MPC midi in A
MPC midi in to PC sound card midi out
MPC midi out A to pc sound card in

settings in MPC

MIDI
active track receive channel ALL
softe thru AS TRACK
sequence change by program change OFF
pad to internal sound ON

Check out Steinberg's V Stack.
Its a VST host program allowing you to get 16 midi channels and host as many vsts as you want..

Some vsts you can just launch by them selfs and you can get 16 out of um.

But wait you have the 2500 so don`t even worry about this,just direct record in each vst into the 25k as you go..

Do that for each sounds you use and u want need to worry about midi tracks..
Just keep it on midi 1 and then Direct record into the mpc when you loop your melody...

Thanks for replying I thought it would make things easy by having the midi as well for editing and shit.
but i will give it a go with direct recording, Think i will need a new mixer as my current setup is recording from tape /cd RCA outputs which is a sample of the output .

Just to let you know my problem was shit midi cables once i swaped them out things got a lot better
