zip to mpc

I have an mpc 2000 and every time I try to hook it up to my zipdrive by changig my device to scsi it says whait ....then nothing it lags ...
This problem is either on the save mode the load mode and the format mode ........plzzz help me

MAKE SURE THE ZIP DRIVE SCSI ID NUMBER MATCHES THE ID YOU'VE ASSIGNED IT TO ON YOUR MPC. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, TRY TO USE THE LATEST OPERATING SYSTEM FOR YOUR MPC.
