I'm running Protools with the Digi 002 and my MPC 2000XL wont start on the first bar when synced with it. I've had this problem for years and no one has helped me yet. I Adressed this problem to akai and digidesign and no luck yet. My problem is I'm trying to dump my tracks that I sequence with the mpc and my keyboards and modules into protools via midi clock. What I've been doing is putting a blank bar in front of my sequence when I'm dumping and it still doesn't lock up on the one. I have to manually chop each track and do edits to get a descent audio region. I know there has to be something that works because it does the same thing with my 2000 and 200XL and I've had this same problem for the last 10 years even when I was using adats.

here is how its done
First manually set your tempo in protools to the same as the mpc2000xl.
Then to set your midi connection hit SHIFT/MIDISYS Turn mode to MIDI CLOCK for Sync Out and Sync In and put Send MMC ON and Recive MMC ON

Thanks for that advice. I've tried that and several other methods before but it still doesn't start exactly on point. It's still leaving some blank space before the audio starts. For instance the kick drum which I always record first. When I record it the way you suggested the audio doesn't start until bar 1/1/058 or 0:00.41in protools instead of bar 1/1/000 or 0:0.00 if you understand what I'm trying to explain. Nothing I tried works , nothing .. I've tryed every possible method with the midi ins and outs and midi clocks and mmc's and nothing works .
