The Mix Tape I recorded is in Scratch

Just got my Scratch in the mail and the mix tape I recorded is in there. It's called 1000 bars by Young Tripp. We got the middle rating. The shitty thing is I bet we would have gotten the top rating if we would have sent a different version of the disc. Tripp spits for over 40 minutes (hence the name) so the version I made I broke up into 30 tracks. My boy Ace wanted to change the mix a little so he re-did it as 2 long ass tracks and they killed us for it in the review. I'm not that mad because we got it in there with a good rating, but I wanted the shit perfect. If you get a chance, check the review.

Yo! I just saw this post Congrats on gettin the review in there. On the real aside from a select few I really can see listeing to any 1 MC. for 40min straight. But good stuff for you man!

Thanks man. It's another step in the right direction. Honestly I didn't know what to expect when dude told me he was going to write a 1000 bar verse. It took him a while to write it but as far as content goes, the shit is nice. He picked the beats and eventhough some of them are weak, he comes through on every one of them. Cats around here are calling the shit a masterpiece, so the recognition is good. Keep an ear out for Young Tripp from Des Moines IA.

I haven't listened to the mix, yet, but i kindof understand Ace for doing it his way.. you know.. 1000 bars.. wtf! that's special.. chopping it into 30 different tracks would have killed the "special thing" about it.. you know?.. no disrespect.. i'm just trying to understand his motivation.

yeah, there is no doubt that his intentions were all good. His mixing skills are outstanding so it was kind of an even trade. Plus, it's not like any of us knew we would lose credit over some bullshit like that. Regardless, its a great cd and Ace did tweak the mix perfectly.
