MPC2000 pgm Transfer to MPC2500

hello.....what up good peeps....i'm new on the forum......just wondering if anyone has run into this problem (newest O.S. installed even tryed th 3.00 jjo.s.), i had an mpc2000....and i'm tryin' to get the pgms, seq/song & sounds (got it to reads sounds only) to work on my MPC2500....with no luck......although it is supossed to be able to read these pgms.......(according to the manual) & although i have discussed this with akai people....they told me to buy a program called awave (why should i spend more money if it's supossed to work!!)......now if this issue was covered by akai according to the manual....& akai contacts (must have rushed out the product)....what am i doing wrong?.......if anyone has also had this problem let me know...please. I love the MPC2500.....& i would hate to get rid of it because of this 1 problem.

It should work..
But if you still have the mpc2000,load up the files and resave the programs in WAv,that will def work.

i use the latest akai os 1.22 and they load up fine, the sequences and everything
