Im a fairly new MPC 2000xl user. I don't have a paper manual,so running back and forth to the PC is a bitch. My first ? is about zone chopping. I set the amount of zones, then edit the start/stop points for each slice. In the Edit screen, I select slice sound. I select no pgm. The problem is when it slices it puts the start/stop back to the original points that the MP created What am I doing wrong? Is it an OS prob? Am I just a dummy?
Second ?: can someone expain the use of tracks? I seem to have sampling, Editing, and triming down. Also sequencing one PGM doesnt seem to be a prob. Third?: Say I load drums on bank one. Can I assign 16 levels of say bass to another bank? Maybe a sliced sample to another bank?
Somebody help a brother out. Thanks y'all..
peace
also- How can I check to see if I have the latest OS?

Try option to create a new program when you zone chop. Tracks are when you build you sequence /pattern with. Its a good idea to use a UNUSED track for each sound you tap in. Like Track 1,KICK,track 2 you hat,and so on.. That way you can use the track mutes later. Now any sound (in you 4 pad banks)can be assigned to your 16 levels(but only one sound at a time)
