I feel ike a sucker even having to ask this type of thing but how do I assign sounds to tracks (on the 2000xl). Also If I seperate each snd track by track, do I need to sequence them one at a time. For instance can I bang in the kick and snare at the same time and have the events recorded on there own tracks? Am I even making sense?
If nothing else, can someone let me know how to assign tracks? thanks, peace
ps- Don't tell me just to cop the video because I probaby will anyway..thanks

You assign sounds to pads not tracks.
How to do that is hit Shift Program the (drum 1) and tap a unused pad you want it assigned to. You will now see it says OFF. Highlight off and with your data wheel turn it and go through the sounds I'm mem there till you find the one you want assigned.
Repeat procedure for the next sound and so on..
Also its good to have each sound of a dif track in your sequence. But its ok to have a kick and snare or something on the same track.

Thanks for the response man. I am actuly aware of getting sounds to the pads. Sht, I think I even figured out the track thing. While I'm recording a seq. I select an unused track and start playing. What do you know, my bassline is on track 3. Mutabe and all..lol.
Eh homie, I'm sorry for clogging your board with preschool posts. I'm just having a hard time going from the Ensoniq workflow to the Akai train of thought.
I appreciate a the help, and the fact that this board exists at all.. Good looks!
peace

Hello everyone i have a little set up at my house. I have the Reason 4.0 a pair of BX5a M-Audio speakers and a Oxygen8v2 little keyboard, macbook. My set up is pretty cool. I just wanted to get more with some added sounds to my tracks. So i decided to go with a mpc 2000xl which i purchase from a friend of mines for $300 dollars. So i cant wait until i get my sounds and learned more about the mpc2000xl. I talk to Joe from this website. And he will hook me up what ever i need to get started with my sampling. Peace everyone. Also if anyone could answer my question. Could you work reason 4.0 with the mpc 2000xl? Peace
