I'm a DJ and I'm starting to get more into creating my own tracks and doing remixes. I was going to get the MPC2500, but I hear from a few sources that have the 2000XL, that they would not go to the 2500 for the world. I wanted some thoughts on this. The 2000xl would save me some money. Peace [thescript]

Well I use the mpc2000xl,but I would upgrade to a mpc2500 in a heartbeat man.. So many new features, the 2500 is a beast.
If your new the use a mpc the 2000xl is a great unit,in fact the 2000xl is great all around. But the 2500 is crazy..chop shop, direct record, need I say more.

Word, Thanks for the response man. I am new to using the MPC. I just want to make sure I can get the most out of it. I figure I would master the 2000XL then maybe look at upgrading later. What can I do to upgrade the memory on the 2000XL? Can I go to a 80 gig HD on it? I hear a lot of people like the CF reader the best. Also, does the CD Rom Save data or just used to import data?
Peace.

ive owned most of the akai mp series.. and i must say any of them would be a excelent choice to start out on... imo...it's switching from mp to mp thats the main differance, they all see to have thier own feel to them...though similar...still different... as a dj..the 1000 offers many convient feats...like being portable, usb...etc...
