From what I've read; it seems that the winner just gets his or her song played on TV and posted on their website. Money would be nice though

I just downloaded the legal pdf and read it. I like the idea of having my music on a major network. The only problem is I don't see what the benefit is. There is no money involved. I could easily live with that because after all it is a major network but, they basically have the rights to exploit the music with their affiliates and in whatever medium they choose (future included) without any compensation to the producer. The contract takes away pretty much any rights that the owner has. It even states that if the network is sued in regards to this music, that the owner will be liable to protect the network. I'm not sure I see the benefit. Basically, they're getting free music to use however they want. Am I missing something?
